Volunteers are an important part of Georgia Heartland Humane Society to find Forever Homes for the cats and dogs in our care. Our entire group is made up of volunteers who devote their time, skills, knowledge and energy to rescuing and assisting animals in need.
We request volunteers :
- Volunteer for 6 hours per month
- Wear the Georgia Heartland Humane Society t-shirt while volunteering
- Be able to receive emails/text as the main communication method with GHHS
- Volunteer must not have any history of animal abuse
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old

Fostering
Fosters are one of our biggest needs. We are always looking for amazing people to help us care for, socialize and love the animals we rescue. This opportunity is very hands on and very rewarding. It is a great way to volunteer as a family, or great for people who love animals but aren't ready for a permanent pet.
Event Volunteering
We are always looking for volunteers to help with large events. Volunteers are needed to assist with running booths, helping fundraise and caring for animals we may have for adoption. This opportunity is most needed during the Georgia Renaissance Festival.
Other Opportunities
We are also recruiting volunteers with a specific skill - be it graphic art, photography, videography, fundraising, marketing, business, etc. If you have a skill or talent you would like to lend to Georgia Heartland Humane Society please contact us, with a description of your expertise and your general availability.
