Welcome to Georgia Heartland Humane Society

Founded in 1995, Georgia Heartland Humane Society has maintained the focus of rescuing abandoned and abused cats and dogs. As a foster based organization, we do not have a brick and mortar location, and rely on our volunteers and donations to do what we do. We hope to help end the suffering of these animals through our foster program, spay & neuter, education and adoption.

Hi, my name is Cheeto. I was left behind when my owners moved. A neighbor found me covered in oil and very sick. When I was getting the help I needed, they found some other medical problems, and I have been getting treatment ever since. I haven't had the happiest start in life, but that hasn't stopped from spreading love to everyone I meet. I love attention and I love to play. Someday soon, I hope to be healthy enough to find a family of my own.
